In 2023-2024 around the launch of The Synthetic University, James has presented at the University of California, Berkeley Center for Studies in Higher Education, the Stanford University Academic Innovation for the Public Good seminar, and the Future Trends Forum. Throughout his career, James has been an invited speaker at campuses including Bates College and Duke University on topics ranging from Intercollegiate athletics and college admissions to digital transformation in libraries and pedagogy, faculty reward structures, and venture philanthropy.
